Hello, welcome to my shop.
I’m passionate about creating beautiful, handcrafted furniture – a journey that began over 20 years ago as a simple hobby and has grown into my full-time craft and business. From my small one-person shop in the peaceful Jura mountains near Aarau, Switzerland, I build each piece completely by hand, using traditional joinery techniques without screws wherever possible to ensure strength, longevity, and beauty.
I specialise in custom furniture design and fine woodworking, creating everything from Shoji lamps with Kumiko panels to elegant oak wall cabinets, benches, keepsake boxes, and unique wooden decor pieces. Each project starts with careful planning and design, often using SketchUp to model every detail precisely before cutting wood. This process ensures that your furniture not only looks beautiful but also functions perfectly in your home.
I would love to design and build a special piece of furniture just for you. Please feel free to contact me anytime with your ideas and dreams – design discussions and project planning are always free, and I never charge anything until you are completely happy with the design and ready to begin building your unique piece.

This Shoji lamp is handcrafted from a striking piece of special walnut, giving it a rich, warm tone. The top features a Kumiko lattice, and each side is fitted with Shoji panels made from maple wood, backed with your choice of white, pink, or blue handmade Japanese Awagami Unryu paper. Kumiko is a traditional Japanese woodworking art that involves fitting tiny wooden parts together without any nails or screws.
Each lamp includes either a 15-watt bulb (85 lumens) or a brighter 25-watt bulb (250 lumens), already installed for your convenience. The bulbs have a long lifespan, but when replacement is needed, one Shoji panel can easily be removed to access the socket.
These lamps are individually made in my small workshop. They are not factory-produced, so slight variations and natural character in the wood are part of their unique handmade quality.
